           We are a fast growing German startup that produces custom personalized shirts built to order in Thailand and then shipped to our customers abroad. At every step in the process, customers can keep track of their shirt through their phone and have input into their order. 

          Our shirts are sold exclusively via direct sales through a network of consultants - which is why we can afford to sell our shirts at such an attractive price and also provide an ethical workplace for our manufacturing workers in Asia - our workers are treated to above average pay, high standard of cleanliness, free drinks, food subsidies etc.

Senior QA Engineer

Befeni is looking to hire a Senior QA Engineer to help us deploy more robust, bug-free code to production. We currently have two large applications and a plethora of small interconnected tools that we mantain. One of the applications is a monolithic legacy application which is used by thousands of users and the ideal candidate will help us modernize our testing practices so that we can overhaul the legacy application without degrading the experience for our users.

Your role will involve participating in our sprint project planning; to review requirements of our sprints by examining specifications and/or technical design documents and then planning test scenarios and acceptance tests whilst the developers begin implementing the new projects/features.

As part of this planning, you will be expected to estimate and prioritize testing activities. You may be working alongside a Junior QA Engineer so managing their workload will be part of your role.

We already have staging environments but you will work with the lead developer to provision the test environment and populate test data according to your requirements. Your job will be to strategically improve our test coverage so that the business has more confidence in the core code powering our business.

The ideal candidate for us will have a passion for their field. We want to hire someone with a strong interest and background in QA. We expect you will be up-to-date with latest testing tools and strategies and introduce them to the team. Because Befeni is still at startup stage, you will have a lot of room to implement your own ideas and methodologies.

One of the biggest gaps in our current skillset is someone with the experience to design, develop and maintain automation scripts for functional testing - so experience with browserless testing tools and other automated QA tools will be beneficial.

Of course you should be great at making yourself understood because you will be working with many different colleagues ranging from your friends in the development team to working with support and customers to understand and document bugs.

In terms of work environment, we are remote friendly. We have colleagues in the United States, Europe and Asia so we are not concerned where you work from as long as you can communnicate well. If you are living in Bangkok or would like to move to Thailand we can help with securing a visa and moving here.

We are slowly working towards becoming more agile (it is a process which involves educating the entire company) but we are not dogmatic about it.

We do regular sprint retrospectives and all IT team members have performance reviews to set goals and track their progress every three months.
